We've begun work n our first group project, PR5001, at Escape Studios, where I've been given the role of Production Designer, Layout Supervisor and Lead Animator.

Week of 15/2/2021

Working with our Director and Writer to establish locations based on the story script and the director's vision.

Production Design:

I worked with our Layout and Lighting artists to find inspiration for environment and lighting.

Setting up moodboards and considering colour palettes for locations.




Layout:

Breaking down scenes into finding out what assets to include.



Week of 22/02/2020

Production Design & Layout
Further moodboards and lighting for locations, exterior and interior.





Colour Script: 
Working with the storyboard artist to find the colour theme for the environment in the animatic.

Week of 29-02-21

Production Design

Bringing the storyboard layouts to life by overseeing placement of digital assets in 3D layouts as well as environments and lighting(HDRI's where necessary), with the help of the layout artist and CG Supervising artist, and background/foreground elements.

Modeling 3D assets and creating textures that were required:

Car Key, Dog Leash

One- Sheet Updates:

Bringing in 3D plant layouts and backgrounds to the update and further adjustments in Photoshop.



Week of 5-03-21

Creature Animation

I worked on animating Max, the dog, in three shots, trying to convey Max's emotions through his non-verbal interactions with his human, Cecilia.

Production Design

Environment layouts were further worked on in-between animation, with textures being recreated to better fit the setting of the environments.

Gas Station



Setting up an Image plane render to use in place of assets to minimize file size and render time.





Week of 12-3-21

Further animation checks as well as final layout and texturing checks. I worked with our CG Supervisor, Nicole Widmer to make sure all textures for all scenes were consistent, shot-to-shot and all visual assets were clear.

I added animations to trees and misc. vehicles.



Week of 22-3-21

The last week of the project consisted of test rendering, adjustments and final rendering, while I assisted on the creation of the group blog, to document the progress of the project over the weeks, as well as create visuals for the group logo and youtube thumbnails.
